Verification guidelines explained
Why do we require verification by ID for all members?
We do this for several reasons. The main reason is your safety. Unfortunately, the online dating industry is known to have a lot of problems with scams and dishonest people trying to get to your wallet. By requiring every member to provide a form of identification, you can be sure that every person you meet on this site really are who they say they are. If anyone should ever ask you for money or gifts, please report them immediately. We have their identification papers on file and will contact the local authorities.
Secondly, we want you to be sure that every member's age and place of residence is 100% correct. Sadly, people often talk or chat for months before discovering that the information given on a profile was incorrect.
Why do we require a photo with a keycode verification?
If you have ben on other dating sites you might have experienced that the photos on a member's profile do not represent how they look in real life. Once you start communicating you realize that they actually look 10 years older, or even worse, the photos were not of them at all. Our staff checks every photo on every profile and compare them to the uploaded photo with keycode. Any photo that does not match a member's true appearance is deleted. We also have a strict policy of not allowing photos older than 12 months on our site.
Why do you need my phone number?
We ask for your phone number to be able to do random security checks. If we are unsure about a member's identity one of our staff will request a short video call.
What if I do not want to upload a copy of my passport or other ID?
We understand that you might be reluctant to do this. But, all documents uploaded to our site are stored on a secure server in the UK, and we are a Norwegian owned and operated company. Any document you upload are only used for verification purposes. It will never be shared with anyone. Still not comfortable with this process? We do provide other methods of verification. Just complete step 2 and 3 which are uploading a photo of yourself with the keycode provided and entering your phone number. After this you will receive a very short call from a member of our staff who will ask you to show them your ID.
What is the point of such strict verification policies?
We want your journey on this site to be an amazing experience. A quest to find your true love without worrying whether they are "real" or not. For this to happen we must make sure that every member is verified. By our verification process we create a safe community of very real and likeminded people that are looking for a serious relationship. With us you will not meet scammers or encounter fake profiles. No bots sending you endless mails about interest from members or "your profile have been viewed", every day. We believe that is worth the little extra effort that our verification routines require.
